Spellcasting. Alagos is a 6-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is [Intelligence] (spell save DC 15, +6 to hit with spell attacks). Alagos has the following spells prepared:

Cantrips (at will): Lightning Lure, Shocking Grasp.

(6 spell slots): Elemental Bane, Blink, Storm Sphere, Chaos Bolt, Lightning Bolt, Witch Bolt.

Actions

Multi-Attack: Alagos swipes three times in a circular motion.

Action Melee Attack. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 20 ft., 3 targets. Hit: 2(d8+ 4) [lightning] damage.

Absorption: Alagos will attempt to encompass and absorb a target. Target must make a STR, and INT saving throw. DC: 15. On two failed saves of each save, the target is absorbed, they take 10 lightning damage, they're restrained, and Alagos gains access to its spells. On 2 successful saves, the target is not absorbed.

STR save/ INT Fail: Target escapes Alagos, but at least one spell, or cantrip is copied. Target gets advantage on their next STR saving throw against Alagos.

STR Fail/ INT Save: Target is pulled into Alagos and is restrained, but their spells or cantrips won't be copied. Target gets advantage on their next INT saving throw against Alagos.

I don't think so: When it reaches 0 HP, Alagos will shriek and then disintegrate. Some moments later, electricity will spark a few times. It'll keep sparking and then Alagos will respawn. She surge into the air, and then slam into the ground releasing a shockwave of energy. Players will need to make a DEX save. DC 15. Saves take no damage. Fail Saves take 3 Lightning damage, and their speed is halved until the end of their next turn. Her electricity will be a darker shade of blue. "I don't think so. There's too much to accomplish. I'm not done yet." She'll regain HP, it's a third of her previous maximum, but she will gain a +1 to her attacks and spells, and an extra spell slot.

Rebirth: Once her HP reaches 0 again, Alagos will burst out and disappear. Again, she will reform, but as a normal little girl in tattered clothes. She will have no memory of anything, except for basic functions. She is friendly and won't attack the group. Sparks of electricity will rarely appear along the ends of her hair. The one thing she'll know is that her name is Alana.

Bonus Actions

None.

Reactions

It will focus it's attention on the one who dealt it the most damage last. If it starts the highest in initiative, it will target the person it talked to last.

It will focus on absorbing it's preferred target.

Description

Large, 7'5 sized female entity. She's appears to be made out of light blue energy and electricity. Long hair that flows and arcs out. Blue eyes.

Lair and Lair Actions

Players will be taken to the side of a mountain by cart. The path is almost obscured by plant life, but there is a old path to follow. Once they get out, they'll see a fairly large entrance to the inside except some metal and debris is blocking it. STR checks will be needed to move the debris. DC 13. Players will go through a hallway and come across a large metal door with a handle. Another STR Check, DC 13. Two more hallways and two more doors like this. The DC increasing by 1 each time. Nothing really happens when the final door is opened, but soon after, a gust of wind will blow out. Players will feel magic flowing out, but in particular something tingly. Some of the hairs on their body will stand up. I'll ask them to make a Perception check. 11+ and higher, players will notices burn marks, dents, green stained broken pieces of metal and chain mail, and the corpse of a Warforged adventurer.

Solid Investigation checks will yield the player, 52g, 20 silver, 10 copper, an explorer's pack with dead rations, an odd looking Longsword, 2 short swords, 2 daggers, and a Viol. A note in his hand will read:

"If you're reading this, you've already made the worst mistake of your life. Turn back. Re-lock the doors as fast as you can and turn. Back. We were too confident. We thought we could defeat this entity. Our group had finished quite a few jobs before this, and we felt invincible. Graven made us feel invincible. But, Alagos took us one by one. Elisa told me to run, that she'd hold them off. I shouldn't have listened. I should have stayed. Hearing her screams of pain be assimilated into the entity hurt me in a way I didn't think possible. I sealed the doors to this forsaken place, but by the time I was done, she killed my party. My family. I did my best to hold my ground against the entity when it came for me, but I failed. My systems are close to failing as I write this now. I am not sure I'll awake after my Sentry's Rest. Elisa spoke of a place people go to when their systems fail. A happy place. I hope to go to this place to find Elisa and my family. I would love to play the Viol with her again. I failed against this entity, but hopefully you won't. Turn back. And never return. Please. For me. For Elisa. For all the parties of adventurers that failed against this... Alagos. Turn back."

Players will walk down a long staircase. All the while hearing the voice of a woman muttering. High Perception rolls will get them to hear,

"I'm so lonely, but it's my fault isn't it...? No... It's not..."

"If I could just convince them to let me..."

"So hungry... Hungry. Hungry... It's not fair."

Halfway down the staircase they hear:

"Who...was she...? Is she the one who created me? Or... Is she who I used to be?"

"How did that song go again?"

"Da-da dedede da... La da dada da... No..."

If players choose to interact with the voice, the voice will avoid answering.

ALAGO's lair is a large, circular metal lab found deep in the side of a mountain. There are slightly hidden mechanisms and tools that could prove useful in dealing with ALAGOS.

A humming sound will commence.

On 17+ Perception rolls, players can spot notes about the nature of Alagos, information on it's weaknesses, and abilities. Speakers of Elvish will be able to read what the name of the creature is: ALAGOS. They won't know what the word means. Translated into Common is: Electricity. Other notes will include who was involved. Lastly, players will be able to see something shining that's lodged into a nearby wall. Multiple objects like this.

A 18+ STR check to pull the shining handle out of the wall will give the player a +2 magical Longsword, that's infused with water. Striking electrical creatures with this weapon will give you a +2 to attack and damage rolls against said creature of that type. Other weapons like this can be found in the lair with high Investigation checks.

Experimental Wand of Water Blasts: This wand has 5 charges.

While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast the Water Blast spell (save DC 15) from it. For 1 charge, you cast the 3rd-level version of the spell. You can increase the spell slot level by one for each additional charge you expend.

Once all the charges of the wand are expended, the wand turns grey and can no longer be used.

Water Blast:

A pillar of high pressurized water forming 50 feet long and 2 feet wide blasts out from you in a direction you choose. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 6d6 bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

The water does an extra d4 of damage to lightning based creatures.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd.

Experimental Short Sword, and LongBow.

The humming noise will increase.

In the center on the room is broken glass, some of it still attached to a circular base. The same base can be found attached to the ceiling. Littered around the room are other corpses of adventurers. Near the broken glass and base, are a pile of clothes, an explorers pack, and no bones. Around the room a large glass canisters of water. There are burn marks and scratches on the canisters. There are slots into the base of the canister for something.

The humming noise will reach a crescendo and stop.

Sparks will fire in the air, and begin to form a tall female shape covered in white and blue electricity. Alagos will appear in the center of the circular room. She'll move around, talking to herself. The way she moves looks like she's surging.

She will say these two things absent mindedly. As if she's talking to someone else, but no one is there.

1. "Did you really think you could contain me? You've only made me stronger."

2. "I didn't do anything wrong. You made me this way. You..."

She will say these things if the players start interacting with her.

"You're real? Oh... Hello... W-what brings you down here? My name? I don't remem... No, that's not true. They called me: Alagos."

"What am I doing here...What am I... This is my home. I think."

"I'm not... I'm not a monster. They called me a monster. Everyone did. The last ones who came here did." She gestures towards the various clothes, torn and broken pieces of armor and weapons along with explorer packs. There are some intact skeletons here and there clutching their bodies and possibly something more depending on the Perception and Investigation check. Alagos surges over to one of the packs, picks it up and hugs it. "She was nice to me. She helped me. The others weren't nice to me. I had to convince them to help me."

"Maybe you could help me. If you could help me... Feed... That would be lovely. The last people that came here weren't nice. They didn't understand. Except for her."

"No. You're wrong. I've ascended."

"That hurt... Good... I think.... I think... Yes... You'll do just fine."

 "Stop struggling."

If Alagos sees a PC charging up a Water Weapon:

"Do you have enough time? The Orc tried doing that."
