Innate Spellcasting. The ash death's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 14, spell attack bonus +6). The ash death can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
5/day each: blood clot, ashen touch (at 5th level)
2/day each: cleansing ash
Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces the ash death to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, the ash death drops to 1 hit point instead.
Multiattack. The Ash Death makes two attacks with its ashen touch.
Ashen Touch. Melee Spell Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (3d6 + 4) necrotic damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or be overtaken by the rotting ash. The cursed target can't regain hit points, and its hit point maximum decreases by 10 (3d6) for every 24 hours that elapse. If the curse reduces the target's hit point maximum to 0, the target dies, and its body turns to dust. The curse lasts until removed by the remove curse spell or other magic.
Description
The Ash Death is the result of an overload of necrotic magic tangling itself in the body of an undead, causing a constant outpour of the magical plague of the ashen touch.
Due to this overflow of necromancy, the Ash Death is constantly drawn to areas of vibrant and filling life, so that it may release this energy into something it can effect.
This makes it so that it can be easy to distract an Ash Death as it always goes for the most vibrant life, even when easier targets present themselves.
The ashen nature of this undead makes it even more vulnerable to the powers of holy water than other undead. This is because even normal water nullifies the rotting nature of the ash, scattering the free particles and clumping the body together.
