Traits

Magic Resistance. The Acovato has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects

Spellcasting. The Avocato's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC14 , +6 to hit with spell attacks). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
Cantrips (at will): Druidcraft, Thorn Whip, Thunderclap
1st level (2/day): Goodberry

Actions

Scratch. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit reach 5 ft. one target. Hit 3 (1d4+2) slashing damage.

Avocato Throw. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 25 ft. one target. Hit: 4 (1d6+3) bludgeoning damage.

Edible Armour (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). The Avocato grows an outer shell of fresh fruit. Until it sheds its outer shell, it gains a +3 bonus to AC, regenerates 2 Hit points at the end of each of its turns and is Immune to piercing and slashing damage. While in the shell, the Avocato is blinded, its speed is 0, it has disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws, and it can't take actions. The only action it can take is a bonus action to shed its outer shell. After shedding its outer shell in 2 halves any creature that consumes the outer shell of fresh fruit gains (2d4) hit points.

Variant: Avocato Familiar. Some Avocato are willing to serve spellcasters as a familiar. Such Avocatos have the following trait. Familiar. The Avocato can serve another creature as a familiar, forming a magical, telepathic bond with that willing companion. While the two are bonded, the companion can sense what the Avocato senses as long as they are within 1 mile of each other. While the Avocato is within 10 ft. of its companion, the companion shares the Avocato's Magic Resistance trait. When a companion consumes the Avocato's Edible Armour the healing is maximized.

Reactions

Mighty Meow. (1/Day). The Avocato is a natural healer, able to to restore health by creating food (Edible Armour) for itself and other creatures to provide nourishment. If the Avocato senses a predator, it often hides inside its fruit outer shell. When threatened by a creature that is not fooled by its disguise (DC15 Wisdom) saving throw, the Avocato has one last line of defense. When cornered the Avocato unleashes its thunderously loud meow. Most creatures are startled by how something so little can generate such a loud noise causing disadvantage on DC 14 Constitution saving throw or take (3d6) Thunder Damage, or 1/2 as much on a successful save.
