Antimagic Cone. The Detention Spawns large implanted eye creates an area of antimagic, as in an antimagic field spell, in a 70-foot-cone. At the start of each of its turns, the horror decides which way the cone faces and whether the eye is covered, ending the effect. The area works against the ray produced by its other smaller implanted eye.

Description

The Detention spawn is a horribly altered human dressed in rags with a large metal head-plate covering its head and fused to its left palm, holding it in place, and a bulky metallic cylinder encasing its right forearm. Beneath its head-plate lies a massive cloudy red eye implanted into the beings mouth and skull cavity. This unblinking eye stolen from a juvenile Beholder now acts as its only form of sight as the individuals original eyes now have been removed as well as much of the rest of what was formerly inside its skull to make room for it. The other metal housing on its right arm houses an eye stalk taken from a Beholder that has been grafted to its wrist. When charged an aperture opens revealing the eye stalk and allowing the Spawn to use its paralysis ray. When uncharged it acts a devastating club. With little of its former brain remaining its intelligence is almost nonexistent, and is often accompanied by a handler to guide its behavior. When accompanied by a handler its subdued by an iron chain attached to a collar around its neck.
