Death Throes. When Ag’thonog dies, he explodes, and each creature within 40 feet of him must make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw, taking 70 (20d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The explosion ignites flammable objects in that area that aren't being worn or carried, and it destroys Ag’thonog’s weapons.

Discorporation. When Ag’thonog drops to 0 hit points or dies, his body is destroyed but his essence travels back to his domain in the Nine Hells, and he is unable to take physical form for a time.

Fire Aura. At the start of each of the Ag’thonoh’s turns, each creature within 15 feet of it takes 10 (3d6) fire damage, and flammable objects in the aura that aren't being worn or carried ignite. A creature that touches Ag’thonog or hits him with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 10 (3d6) fire damage.

Magic Resistance. Ag’thonog has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Magic Weapons. Ag’thonog’s weapon attacks are magical.

Actions

Multiattack. Ag’thonog can use his Frightful Presence. He then makes two attacks: one with its longsword and one with its whip.

Longsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (3d8 + 10) slashing damage plus 13 (3d8) lightning damage. If the balor scores a critical hit, it rolls damage dice three times, instead of twice.

Whip. Melee Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, reach 30 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d6 + 10) slashing damage plus 10 (3d6) fire damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 20 Strength saving throw or be pulled up to 25 feet toward the balor.

Frightful Presence. Each creature of the Ag’thonogs choice that is within 120 feet of him and aware of him must succeed on a DC 21 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the his Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.

BiteMelee Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: (4d12 + 10) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it is grappled (escape DC 20). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and Ag'thonog can't bite another target

Teleport. Ag’thonog magically teleports, along with any equipment he is wearing or carrying, up to 120 feet to an unoccupied space it can see.

Legendary Actions

Tentacle. Melee Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, reach 30 ft., one target. Hit: (3d6 + 10) bludgeoning damage. The target is grappled (escape dc 20) Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained. Ag'thonog has 3 tentacles, each of which can grapple one target

Summon Imps. Ag'thonog opens his mouth releasing 11(3d6+2) Imps who land in an empthy space with 10ft of Ag'thonog. The Imps act on the initiative acount immediately after Ag'thonog and their first action is always to go invisible.

Swallow. Ag'thonog makes one bite attack against a Large or smaller creature it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target takes the bite's damage, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. While swallowed, the creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside Ag'thonog, and it takes 42 (12d6) acid damage at the start of each of the Ag'thonog's turns. If Ag'thonog takes 60 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside him, Ag'thonog must succeed on a DC 24 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate all swallowed creatures, which fall prone in a space within 10 feet of Ag'thonog. If the Ag'thonog dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained and can escape from the corpse by using 30 feet of movement, exiting prone. Any creature that spends 6 of Ag'thonogs turns being swallowed will not only take the ongoing acid damage but be transported to the 4th plane of the 9 hells (Phlegethos).
