Spider Climb. The spider can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
The Blade Spider makes three attackes, one with its bite, and two with it's blade slash.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 11 Constitution saving throw, taking 9 (2d8) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If the poison damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, the target is stable but poisoned for 1 hour, even after regaining hit points, and is paralyzed while poisoned in this way.
Blade Slash. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) slashing damage.
Description
A monstrosity created by some magicians around the time of the Spellplague, Blade Spiders were typically known to lurk under thick foliage or in crevices, pits, or bolt-holes in floors of caverns. They were not web spinning spiders, relying on surprise and numbers to overwhelm their prey. They would attack with their front legs made out of sharpened chitinous material. Their lairs could often be identified by the scratch marks on stones around their lair, indicating their use of those stones as sharpening tools.
