Traits

Disgorge Zombie. As a bonus action, Aureliadan can disgorge a normal zombie, which appears in an unoccupied space within 10 feet of it. The disgorged zombie acts on its own initiative count. After a zombie is disgorged, roll a d6. On a roll of a 1, Aureliadan runs out of zombies to disgorge and loses this trait. If Aureliadan still has this trait when it dies, 1d4 normal zombies erupt from its corpse at the start of its next turn. These zombies act on their own initiative count.

Magic Resistance. Aureliadan has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces Aureliadan to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, it drops to 1 hit point instead.

Undead Nature. Aureliadan doesn’t require air, food, drink, or sleep.

Actions

Multiattack. Aureliadan makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 7) piercing damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d6 + 7) slashing damage.

Breath Weapons (Recharge 5–6). Aureliadan uses the following breath weapon.

Necrotic Flame Breath. Aureliadan exhales fire in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 40 (8d10) fire and necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Description

This noble but arrogant creature sought to defeat Strahd with the aid of his dragonborn kin, only to be brought low by the future dread lord. Upon being cursed with undeath, Strahd returned to his festering corpse, and raised him as an undead steed. With Strahd presumed dead, the dragon zombie slumbers until his torpor is disturbed.
