Description

The Vangthorn is a scaly lizard-like beast with a long, protruding hawk beak. It is a quadrupedal animal with long catlike claws. Protruding out of its back is a long tail, similar to that of a scorpion, the tip is a ball of needle-like spines. It is carried through the air on gigantic feathery wings. The rest of its body is similar to that of a salamander.

The Vangthorn is a predator by nature, it usually hunts large farm animals such as cows and horses. This creature is vicious, and enjoys toying with its prey before consuming it, usually slicing it open or flaying it alive. Vangthorns can be devastating to farmers who live in the areas where they hunt, consuming entire herds in a matter of weeks. The Vangthorn possesses a voracious hunger and usually hunts in the area around its nest until no prey remains in a 4 mile radius, afterwards the Vangthorn will move on.

This creature usually makes its home in a cave nearby to a source of prey. The area is usually filled with dozens of skeletons picked clean. A Vangthorn also makes a habit of constructing its nest itself out of flayed animal skins from its prey.
