Slippery Skin. The Angler Girl has advantage on checks against being grappled or restrained. On each of her turns, she can use a bonus action to take the disengage action.
Additionally, her nimble body allows her to use her full swim speed in any depth of water greater than 1 foot, so long as she does not end her turn in a threatened space.
Ley Lure. At the beginning of its turn, the Angler Girl's bulbous lure pulses with a disarming light. Any creatures within the 15-foot radius dim light that it emanates that are not blinded must succeed on a DC 11 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed, unable to do anything but stare into the lure's beguiling light until the start of the girl's next turn.
If a creature's saving throw is successful it is immune to the lure for 24 hours. This effect is also immediately nullified and cannot be used if Expel Lure is recharging.
Minor Spell Turning. The girl has advantage on saving throws against any spell that targets only her (not an area). If the girl’s saving throw succeeds and the spell is of 3rd level or lower, the spell has no effect on the girl and instead targets the caster.
Multiattack. The girl makes two claw attacks, or one claw attack and one bite if she is grappling a target.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d4 + 3) slashing damage.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 13 (2d10 + 3) piercing damage. If the girl is grappling the creature, she can bite only the grappled creature and has advantage on attack rolls to do so.
Expel Lure (Recharge: 6). The girl's lure erupts in a 30-foot radius of arcane energy. Each creature in the area must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw, taking 21(6d6) force damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.
If the Angler Girl incurs at least 30 points of spell damage in a single round and this effect is not already recharging, it will automatically trigger at the start of the girl's next turn (whether she is alive or dead), dealing an additional 14(4d6) force damage (save for half).
Protruded Bite. When the Angler Girl would make an opportunity attack (or a grapple attempt) against a large or smaller creature she may attempt to bite them if she is able. If successful, her extensive jaws will snatch the creature in place, dealing bite damage. The target is then considered grappled (escape DC 14). Until this grapple ends she can't bite another target.
Description
Known formally by some as Tapodurhn [ta-fo-dern], Angler Girls are agender beasts that represent a vaguely female form, rumored to be a gross mutation between ghouls and carnivorous fish. They stand between 4 to 5 feet tall despite their hunched posture. They are known to possess a potent adaptability to the effects of most magics.
Ravenous and instinctual, these creatures are always on the hunt to consume prey of any kind on land or in the shallows. They are most noted for the bulbous lure-like growth protruding from their brow, as well as having two rows of overgrown undulating teeth hidden by a maw capable of swallowing small domestic animals whole. Their large milky eyes--nearly as pallid as their flesh--are kept moist by a thick nictitating membrane. Long, needle-like claws aid in their capture of small game, and the strange slime coating their skin makes them unusually agile.
Several tales have been woven about how these creatures came to be, most commonly is that they are believed to be abandoned necromantic vessels that have adapted to wetland locales over many years. However, it is shown that they are capable of some rudimentary form of reproduction. Egg casings roughly the size of tangerines have been found at nesting sites, but it would appear that parents leave their young before hatching as they are never found near these nests. They have been found either alone or with a partner, always prowling for a meal and seemingly they have no need for sleep. It has been documented that they are also not above cannibalism, leading scholars to guess that their unique traits have some correlation to their insatiable appetite.
