Spider Climb. The Block has the ability to move up, down, and across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings without suffering any penalties or making any skill checks. The Block gains a climbing speed equal to their movement.
Innate Spellcasting. The Block's innate spell casting ability is Intelligence. The Block can innately cast the following spells, requiring no casting materials or components:
At will. Fire Bolt(at 5th level), Ray of Frost(at 5th level), Eldritch Blast(at 5th level), Witch Bolt(at 3rd level with a range of 40ft.)
Arcane Roulette. At the start of each round, roll 1d4. The Arcane Block then rotates to the side that they rolled and is able to use the corresponding attack for that round. (1= Firebolt, 2=Ray of Frost, 3= Eldritch Blast, 4= Witch Bolt.) If the Block is already concentrating on a Concentration spell, then it can choose to either drop the spell and rotate or remain concentrated on it.
Magic Resistance. The Arcane Block has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Spin Attack. Melee Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5ft., all targets in range. Hit: 8(2d6 +2) Bludgeoning damage. Each creature hit with this attack must make a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be shoved back 30ft and knocked prone. On a success, the creature is shoved back 15 ft and does not get knocked prone.
Description
Description. A Medium sized cube of stone like material set atop six spider like legs. Each side of the creature has a large round eye in the center of each side of the cube, taking up most of the space. Three of these eyes are closed while one is constantly open, with the others occasionally opening to scan the area. Upon closer inspection, it seems as if the creature has the ability to rotate its head in a complete 360 degrees.
Originating from both the plane of Mechanus as well as the skill of arcane users powerful enough to create them, Arcane Blocks are often created with multiple purposes in mind. This most often falls under the realm of sentinel guards or weapons in war, but not always. As such, a skilled enough crafter or arcane user can swap the spells in an Arcane Block by means of its crystal in each eye that it uses to generate the energy to cast spells, though this can turn out to be expensive depending on the spell and materials required.
While the Arcane Block cannot speak, it does express personality to a certain degree. This personality is often changed depending on what spells the Arcane Block is prepared with. For example, a Block with more Evocation based spells may often come off as more reflective of that element, while a Block with more Enchantment based spells may come off as more docile or curious.
