Exist. Any sentient creature that can see the blart within 20 feet must make a DC 15 WIS saving throw or take 2 (1d4-1) psychic damage and are frightened of the blart until the end of their next turn.
Self-hatred. If an attack roll made to hit the Blart misses, the Blart can choose to have the attack succeed.
Description
The Blart is a repulsive frog/slug-like creature that hides under rocks and fallen trees, because it's painfully insecure and never wants to be seen. After accidently creating the Blart, the natural force of evolution was so disgusted it completely stopped working for about a million years. This window of time deprived by science is when magic and such things took root and came into the world. Nothing good can be said about this creature. While not sentient, it is aware of the disgusting form it must endure, and actively hides away from everyone it sees. If a charisma score could be negative, the Blart would have it.
A good way to include Blarts in campaigns is to have them appear on a failed investigation or perception check, adding a dumb little unexpected event.
