Actions
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d10 + 2) piercing damage plus 2 (1d4) acid damage.
Acid Breath (Recharge 5–6). The dragon exhales acid in a 15-foot line that is 5 feet wide. Each creature in that line must make a DC 11 Dexterity saving throw, taking 22 (5d8) acid damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
So an adult female dragon will *typically lay 1d4+1 eggs. Of those maybe 1 makes it past juvenile? So an encounter with 1 wyrmling is not uncommon. the problem with this block, is mother. it you survive that fight, this could finish you off, or you should have no difficulty with this challenge. I was looking for a cr 4-5 dragon for my abandoned old fort map. the Black dragon would fit in the scenario.
it is NOT CUTE!
a level 2 wizard decided to go ahead after his familiar was killed 28 acid damage, successfully saved, still his EXACT HP he was telepathically communicating with the party and suddenly the connection goes. Soooooo.... if he failed the save that was automatic death
shout out to my party for having one of these as their first ever boss and instead of killing it, befriending it and taking it with them everywhere in the form of a evil but very small 10 year old human.
I’d do the same but not try and find their parents
