Traits

Magic Resistance. This creature has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Magical Miasma. This creature is surrounded by a inky fog that supresses all light and sound. Everything within 5 feet of this creature is under the effect of the Darkness and Silence. When the Disruptor takes damage from any source, roll a DC 5 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, this effect is suppressed until the end of the Disruptor's next turn. The DC increases by 1 each time the Disruptor takes damage from another source, and resets after a failure.

Arcane Suppression. Spells of 1st level or higher that are cast within 60 feet of the disruptor must expend a spell slot of one level higher than the desired spell level effect.

Mage Slayer. When the Disruptor damages a creature that is concentrating on a spell, that creature has disadvantage on their concentration check to maintain the spell.

Actions

Multiattack. The Disruptor makes one attacks with its tails, and one bite attack.

Tail Lash. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 15 ft., 1 target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) bludgeoning damage plus 3 (1d6) force damage. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 14) and pulled to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the Disruptor. The Disruptor cannot use its tentacle lash on another target until this grapple ends.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 8(1d10 + 3) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) force damage.

Disrupt (3/Day). A creature within 30 feet of the Disruptor must make a DC 14 Charisma saving throw or lose attunement to one random selected item.

Reactions

Retreat. As a reaction when the Disruptor's Magical Miasma is suppressed, it may move up to 15 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.

Description

Aeorian Disruptors were created by powerful genetic engineers, used to maintain order by hunting and dispatching unruly mages. Their magical miasma allows them to pass unseen and unheard, and prevents many powerful spells from targeting them. Their primary tactics involve pulling a single target into their Miasma and tearing them apart with a bite that crackles with arcane energy. Their arcane suppression and Mage Slayer abilities further ensure that any spellcasters pursued by these beasts struggle to maintain their defences without expending significant resources.
