Description
The dimwitted and foul bleaten is loathed by even those it calls allies. Resembling a humanoid with the legs and head of a goat, the bleaten aspires for nothing more than primal carnage. Cruel and disgusting, bleatens owe their existence to demonic meddling.
Creations of the Horned King. Bleatens were all once members of the many cults of the demonic Prince of Beasts, Baphomet, who vied to win his favor. Cultists who impress the Horned King the most are transformed into mighty minotaurs, while those who displease him are molded into bleatens. Now possessing little use for anything beyond wholesale slaughter, the maddened bleatens yearn for bloodshed. Despite their new, punished forms, bleatens still revere Baphomet above all else, and devout themselves to furthering his goals of ravaging civility.
Savage Soldiers. Though most creatures, both civilized and not, find bleatens to be repulsive and too stupid to be useful, the crazed whelps can often be found following minotaurs. Seeing the large brutes as manifestations of Baphomet’s will in the flesh, bleatens naturally obey them. Minotaurs in turn view bleatens as useful cannon fodder and distractions, employing them in attacks against elves, gnolls, and other enemies of the Horned King.
