Antimagic Susceptibility. The swarm is incapacitated while in the area of an antimagic field. If targeted by dispel magic, the swarm must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against the caster's spell save DC or fall unconscious for 1 minute.
False Appearance. While the swarm is motionless, it is indistinguishable from a pile of books.
Swarm. The swarm can occupy another creature's space and vice versa, and the swarm can move through any opening large enough for a Tiny creature. The swarm can't regain hit points or gain temporary hit points.
Slash. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 0 ft., one target in the swarm's space. Hit: 8 (2d6 + 1) slashing damage, or 4 (1d6 + 1) slashing damage if the swarm has half of its hit points or fewer.
Description
Singular animated books are trivial for most wizards to create, a cantrip performed to impress the layman, or for practical household purposes. It was discovered, however, that in certain magic-rich conditions, a collection of tomes could develop limited sentience on its own, individual books behaving as fish in a larger, interdependent school. Swarms of books have since become many arcanists' favored trap to unleash against undesirable snoops, turning knowledge against those who would steal it in a very literal fashion.
A swarm of books can exist dispersed at rest, strewn across the workspaces of absent-minded wizards or shelved away in disparate sections of a grand library. When the volumes waken, they aggregate together in a whirling storm of pages, swarming unsuspecting trespassers to deliver death by a thousand paper cuts. Wizards delight in animating particularly important tomes with this defense, knowing that a thief would have to decide between risking life and limb to obtain them, or destroying them and surviving.

I feel like the attack ought to be Bludgeoning damage
Could be! I was thinking "death by a thousand paper cuts" in the most literal sense possible.
