Ankheg Brood Mother

Situational Awareness. The Ankheg Brood Mother cannot be flanked.

Multiattack. The Ankheg Brood Queen makes two melee attacks: one with its bite and one with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (4d6 + 6) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) acid damage. If the target is a Large or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 16). Until this grapple ends, the Ankheg Brood Mother can bite only the grappled creature and has advantage on attack rolls to do so.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d8 + 6) slashing damage.

Command Ankhegs. The Ankheg Brood Queen targets 2d4 Ankhegs within 30 feet that can see and hear her. The targeted creatures use their reactions to make a single melee attack.

Acid Spray (Recharge 5-6). The Ankheg Brood Mother spits an acid glob to a point within 40 feet of her, provided that it has no creature grappled. Each creature within 20 feet must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 28 (8d6) acid damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Toss Egg. As a bonus action, the Ankheg Brood Queen can pull an egg off her back that contains an Ankheg Larva. She can then throw the egg up to 20 feet. The egg has an of AC 5 and has 5 hit points. At the start of the brood queen's next turn, the Ankheg Larva can use a bonus action to break out of its egg and immediately move and attack the nearest creature that isn't an Ankheg. The Ankheg Larva subsequently shares the Ankheg Broom Mother's initiative.

Burst Forth (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). The Ankheg Brood Queen breaks through solid ground or wall as a bonus action, showering the area with debris. Each creature within 15 feet of the Ankheg Brood Queen that is surprised must succeed on a DC 17 Strength saving throw, or take 14 (4d6) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. A creature takes half as much damage on a success and isn't knocked prone.
