Water Breathing. The sea horse can breathe only underwater.
Run! Its a sea horse. Its... nibbling on the seaweed?
The things they have stats for...
Why is a sea horse listed as a possible familiar?
For aquatic campaigns.
Because if you cast Enlarge on your sea horse familiar and someone else casts Reduce on the Small fighter/paladin, you now have naval cavalry!
without any buffs or anything this is by far the worst monster I have ever seen.
I thought that an intelligence of 1 meant being completely mindless, I'm not sure seahorses are mindless
So....if the creature can only breathe underwater, and you cast polymorph on a land creature on land...would you effectively suffocate it?
Yup, just like in real life. I'm pretty sure that the only reason they're not dead is because of their considerable amount of armor and their somewhat existent camouflage. irl they can't swim more than a mile an hour, because they can only move with their tiny lil fin on their back. Kinda cute, but that's about it.
A 20ft swim speed is generous. They're the worst swimmers of all fish. Lol
What they spent time on instead of making different greatwyrms actually unique like ancient dragons
this is a joke, this stat block was made before greatwyrms were even on the list of things to make. But still
Why are sea horses in the game but not chickens?!
Cuz we have Abyssal Chickens which is better than normal chickens.
That's generous that they give them a swimming speed of 20 feet. They are actually one of the slowest swimmers in the ocean.
Strange that it doesn't have Underwater as an environment tag. Wonder why?
As a druid this stat block saved my life when a giant epic crab got me in its claws and dragged me 30ft. under water. Sea horses for life!
