Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the tarrasque fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Magic Resistance. The tarrasque has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Reflective Carapace. Any time the tarrasque is targeted by a magic missile spell, a line spell, or a spell that requires a ranged attack roll, roll a d6. On a 1 to 5, the tarrasque is unaffected. On a 6, the tarrasque is unaffected, and the effect is reflected back at the caster as though it originated from the tarrasque, turning the caster into the target.
Siege Monster. The tarrasque deals double damage to objects and structures.
Multiattack. The tarrasque can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes five attacks: one with its bite, two with its claws, one with its horns, and one with its tail. It can use its Swallow instead of its bite.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +19 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 36 (4d12 + 10) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it is grappled (escape DC 20). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the tarrasque can’t bite another target.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +19 to hit, reach 15ft., one target. Hit: 28 (4d8 + 10) slashing damage.
Horns. Melee Weapon Attack: +19 to hit, reach 10ft., one target. Hit: 32 (4d10 + 10) piercing damage.
Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +19 to hit, reach 20ft., one target. Hit: 24 (4d6 + 10) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 20 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Frightful Presence. Each creature of the tarrasque’s choice within 120 feet of it and aware of it must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, with disadvantage if the tarrasque is within line of sight, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the tarrasque’s Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.
Swallow. The tarrasque makes one bite attack against a Large or smaller creature it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target takes the bite’s damage, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. While swallowed, the creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the tarrasque, and it takes 56 (16d6) acid damage at the start of each of the tarrasque’s turns.
If the tarrasque takes 60 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside it, the tarrasque must succeed on a DC 20 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate all swallowed creatures, which fall prone in a space within 10 feet of the tarrasque. If the tarrasque dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse by using 30 feet of movement, exiting prone.
The tarrasque can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. The tarrasque regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Attack. The tarrasque makes one claw attack or tail attack.
Move. The tarrasque moves up to half its speed.
Chomp (Costs 2 Actions). The tarrasque makes one bite attack or uses its Swallow.
This creature has eyes on the side of its head, and spikes on its back. Both of these are characteristics of prey animals. What is strong enough to prey on a tarrasque, you ask? Any greatwurm dragon, and quite possibly tiamat herself.
bro my dm is making us fight this goleith at level ******* 3
right now btw
How the heck do y’all talk so much about such a straightforward thing lmao 😂😂
My friends you can kill this thing with a broom of flying and a magical bow, enough arrows to kill this thing and. Fly up and shot down at a distance greater than 120 feet.
I honestly think it's kind of underwhelming in that regard a fighter can take this thing out pretty quickly if done properly.
took him down with 3 c4
..... i can take it :)
were you on r/dndmemes while there was a giant argument about wether a level 1 aarackora with a +1 longbow could solo the tarrasque?
my friends r dead
"Run its Godzilla!"
"it looks like Godzilla, but due to international copyright laws, its not."
"Still we should run like it is Godzilla!"
"Though it isn't."
AHHHH
That would be the case as long as the DM didn't have a brain cell to realize that using the improvised weapon rules, the Tarrasque can very easily pick up a boulder/building and just chuck it at whatever is shooting it. Based on its size, that's at least 4d4 + 10, although if the DM was cruel, it could use the attack as a Giant could doing either 4d10 + 10 or 4d12 + 10.
Just because the statblock doesn't have it written down doesn't mean that the same rules still don't apply to the creature. If a PC can use an improvised weapon like a frying pan or some other nonsense, then so can the dm's creatures.
I made a level 20 Kobold fighter build that can solo kill it in 2 turns - 3 or 4 if I roll bad.
I could take it
quite good
nobody stands a chance
I don't think it deserves to be CR 30
Our 9th Lvl Cleric casts Contagion
Your touch inflicts disease. Make a melee spell attack against a creature within your reach. On a hit, the target is poisoned.
At the end of each of the poisoned target’s turns, the target must make a Constitution saving throw. If the target succeeds on three of these saves, it is no longer poisoned, and the spell ends. If the target fails three of these saves, the target is no longer poisoned, but choose one of the diseases below. The target is subjected to the chosen disease for the spell’s duration.
Since this spell induces a natural disease in its target, any effect that removes a disease or otherwise ameliorates a disease’s effects apply to it.
Blinding Sickness. Pain grips the creature’s mind, and its eyes turn milky white. The creature has disadvantage on Wisdom checks and Wisdom saving throws and is blinded.
Filth Fever. A raging fever sweeps through the creature’s body. The creature has disadvantage on Strength checks, Strength saving throws, and attack rolls that use Strength.
Flesh Rot. The creature’s flesh decays. The creature has disadvantage on Charisma checks and vulnerability to all damage.
Mindfire. The creature’s mind becomes feverish. The creature has disadvantage on Intelligence checks and Intelligence saving throws, and the creature behaves as if under the effects of the confusion spell during combat.
Seizure. The creature is overcome with shaking. The creature has disadvantage on Dexterity checks, Dexterity saving throws, and attack rolls that use Dexterity.
Slimy Doom. The creature begins to bleed uncontrollably. The creature has disadvantage on Constitution checks and Constitution saving throws. In addition, whenever the creature takes damage, it is stunned until the end of its next turn.
Its not concentration
Use the Slimy Doom option and every time he's hit he loses a turn
Even if it succeeds on the saving throw it doesn't go away
Only if he succeeds 3 times will it go away
By that time the 9th Lvl party will have dealt 656 damage to it while it loses all its turns
It might be 4d4 + 10, but it goes out with a +0 modifier, since the Tarrasque has virtually no dexterity and probably no proficiency with improvised weapons, since... y'know. And realistically it can make one attack. Also at a 20/60 range.
Of course this won't work, since the Tarrasque is immune to the Poisoned condition so the spell will go off and do nothing.
where does it say that it wont do anything if hes immune to the poisoned condition
could you turn into a turasqe with shapechange or truepolymorph?
