Multiattack. The tyrannosaurus makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its tail. It can't make both attacks against the same target.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 33 (4d12 + 7) piercing damage. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 17). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the tyrannosaurus can't bite another target.
Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (3d8 + 7) bludgeoning damage.
Description
This enormous predatory dinosaur terrorizes all other creatures in its territory. It chases anything it thinks it can eat, and there are few creatures it won’t try to devour whole.
Polymorph MVP
Polymorph can transform you into the king of lizards, if you are level 8 or higher
If I were to guess, I'd say ostrich. Never tried it but their bodies are fairly similar.
Interesting. Good to know.
Is this from a book and if so what book
Polymorph spell
cool
I'm writing a one-shot where my players tame and ride a triceratops on a jungle island and they just charge directly through this one T-Rex. It's gonna be great.
I wish they could still swallow things whole like in 3rd edition.
A ton of monsters of similar sizes have swallow attacks, there's no reason you can't adapt that for this circumstance. That said, relatively few of them have bite attacks with 4d12 damage at a comparable CR.
But if you want a good template to lift, I'd use the remorhaz
Yes, it's in the Monster Manual. :)
I can't express how much I appreciate the accuracy here; the bite is actually comparable to the stop attack of an elephant, and most media doesn't do the T. Rex that much justice.
I get the polymorph is busted right but transforming into a t-rex gives you intelligence of two....wouldnt that make it so you couldn't even tell friend from foe? Wouldnt you just look at everything as food?
Step 1- Obtain Staff of the Woodlands for 1 Action Awaken Spell
Step 2- Awaken T-Rex
Step 3- Cast Barkskin on T-Rex
Step 4- Ride into glorious battle on your AC 16 mount using Thorn Whip to pull creatures closer to that beautiful 4d12+7 bite attack.
Step 5- Profit
That Trex must've gotten absolutely demolished.
With an Intel of 1 you can tell freind from foe
Searched the web for a bard dinosaur to be my token when my bard turns into one. Haven't found anything yet :(
By sheer, dumbfounded luck my group managed to tame one as a pet. My friend playing a Lvl 2 Elf Ranger was the only one out of 4 other Lvl 2 characters to have a decent animal handler proficiency of +4. It should've failed and wiped us out. Now we have a semi-tamed rex named Bitey McTinyhands.
