Description
The Bagman is an urban legend about an adventurer who sought to escape doom by abandoning his party and hiding inside a bag of holding. The cowardly adventurer died, as not one of his party knew where he had disappeared to and could not pull him out of the bag. Over time, the strange forces of this magical in-between place transformed the adventurer into an undead creature. Now the Bagman slips out from a random bag of holding when summoned if you whisper “follow my voice” into it three times. Ravenous and deranged with hunger, the Bagman drags anyone it can capture back into the bag with him to devour and often leaves behind some trinket from his hidden kingdom of lost junk. This urban legend has been passed on by many adolescent children of retired adventurers and has been reputed to being the reason many of them are turning up missing.
The Bagman appears as a long, emaciated corpse or unwrapped mummy with limbs twice the normal length for a humanoid which double fold. His head is also elongated and covered with wisps of grey hair, his eyes are milky white and all but useless. His mouth is lipless and lined with sharp jagged teeth. His feet appear as elongated hands and like his "normal" hands end in sharp, jagged claws. The creature can walk bipedally but prefers to scurry on all fours, usually rotating his body while on the ceiling of a dwelling.
