Traits

Keen Smell. The tiger has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Pounce. If the tiger moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a claw attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the tiger can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.

Regeneration. The vampire regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn if it has at least 1 hit point and isn’t in sunlight or running water. If the vampire takes radiant damage or damage from holy water, this trait doesn’t function at the start of the vampire’s next turn.

Spider Climb. The vampire can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Avoidance. If the sabre-tooth tiger is subjected to an effect that allows it to make a saving throw to take only half damage, it instead takes no damage if it succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if it fails.

Vampire Weaknesses. The vampire has the following flaws:
Forbiddance. The vampire can’t enter a residence without an invitation from one of the occupants.

Harmed by Running Water. The vampire takes 20 acid damage when it ends its turn in running water.

Stake to the Heart. The vampire is destroyed if a piercing weapon made of wood is driven into its heart while it is incapacitated in its resting place.

Sunlight Hypersensitivity. The vampire takes 20 radiant damage when it starts its turn in sunlight. While in sunlight, it has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.

Actions

The Tiger makes two claw and one bite for its attack.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (1d10 + 5) piercing damage. Plus 2d6 necrotic damage. The target’s hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken, and the vampire regains hit points equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage.

Bonus Actions

Shadow Step. While in dim light or darkness, the Sabre-Tooth Tiger can teleport as a bonus action up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space it can see that is also in dim light or darkness. It then has advantage on the first melee attack it makes before the end of the turn.

Reactions

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the vampire fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Legendary Actions

The vampire sabretooth tiger can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. The vampire regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Move. The sabre-tooth tiger moves up to its speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Claw. The sabre-tooth tiger makes two claw strikes.

Bite (Costs 2 Actions). The sabre-tooth tiger makes one bite attack.

Description

Once the pet of Van Richten, now an unrecognizable misshapen beast. The fur and flesh seems stretched and peeled away from its face which now has a sinister and angular shape to it. The protruding teeth are now even longer and sharper and seem to almost drip with an evil darkness.

It's frame seems to barely contain its massive musculature. The beast paws span nearly 12" across with dagger long claws jutting out of each angular toe. The fur almost seems to move around as its shadows drip and shift around its body.

Lair and Lair Actions

  • While in it's lair the sabre-tooth tiger does not need line of sight when using its shadow step ability.
  • While in its lair the sabre-tooth tiger can attempt to hide even when he is only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.
  • A creeping fog clings to the ground within 500 feet of the vampire’s lair. The fog occasionally takes eerie forms, such as grasping claws and writhing serpents.
