Traits

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the dragon fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Stench. Any creature other than a wretch dragon or fomorian that starts its turn within 5 feet of the dragon must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or have disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until the start of the creature’s next turn. On a successful saving throw, the creature is immune to the stench for 1 hour.

Spider Climb. The dragon can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Actions

Multiattack. The dragon can use its Wretched Curse. It then makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d10 + 5) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) necrotic damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage.

Wretched Curse. Each creature of the dragon's choice that is within 20 feet of the dragon and aware of it must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or pulled 10 feet towards the dragon and become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the dragon's Wretched Curse for the next 24 hours.

Psycho-Shift Breath (Recharge 5-6). The dragon exhales a burst of psionic energy in a 60-foot cone.  Each creature in that area must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save the creature takes 45 (13d6) psychic damage and is teleported to an unoccupied space on solid ground up to 25 feet away from their current position of the dragon's choice, on a successful save the target is not teleported and only takes half damage.

Reactions

Burst of Filth. As a reaction, if the dragon takes 30 damage or more on a single turn, various growths and swellings on it's body rupture, creatures within 15 feet of the dragon must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw 18 (2d10 + 7) necrotic damage, and the target is stunned and takes an additional 10 psychic damage on at the start of each of their turns, a creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending both effects on itself on a success.

Legendary Actions

The dragon can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The dragon regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Detect. The dragon makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.

Tail Attack. The dragon makes a tail attack.

Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions). The dragon beats its wings. Each creature within 10 feet of the dragon must succeed on a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw or take 13 (2d6 + 6) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. The dragon can then fly up to half its flying speed.

Description

Sentinels of Fomorian Enclaves. In the Underdark of the Feywild, wretch dragons are every bit as horrid and unsightly as their grim masters. The fomorians enslaved these gruesome reflections of purple dragons on the mortal world to serve in their ongoing war against the hated eladrin and other creatures of beauty. Wretch dragons are aptly named: Their bodies shudder with disgusting growths and swellings. Grown corpulent on the rancid leavings of their masters, these creatures are far bulkier than their natural counterparts, with a thick layer of fat covering their muscular frame.

Accelerated Growth.  Wretch dragons are hatched in well protected crèches within fomorian cities. The fomorians keep the young dragons on a special diet to speed their growth.

Nightmarish Tactics. For all its hideousness, a wretch dragon is highly intelligent and employs a nightmarish array of powers to protect the fomorian painbringers that it accompanies. The dragon draws opponents with its wretched curse and then blows them away with the psychic assault of its breath weapon. Foes facing the creature must beware of the ichorous growths that stud its flesh: Dealing enough damage to the dragon causes these to explode, showering nearby creatures with necrotic filth.
