Traits

Amphibious. While out of water, the Voorp can breathe air, but needs to be watered periodically.

Underwater Camouflage. The octopus has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made while underwater.

Ultraviolet Sight. Can see into the ultraviolet spectrum

Psychic. Makes partner immune to low-level psychic attacks. 

Actions

Tentacles. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 10). Until this grapple ends, the octopus can't use its tentacles on another target.

Soak. Healing Factor, is antidote and cures minor curses. 
Water creature soaks in takes on aspect of creature for one week, turning orange and functioning as antidote and balm against minor curses. After one week the solution reverts to its base components.

The voorp can see extremely well, and moves quickly and easily over most terrain. The voorp has over 20 main eyestalks and is covered in perhaps hundred of smaller eyestalks, each with a number of suction cups, similar to an octopus or squid. They can can be trained to fetch objects, and exhibit a rather complex level of lateral thinking.

The Voorp does not seem to have a codified written or spoken language. They communicate in little chirps or purrs, and if pressed with a “speak with animals” spell can communicate psychic images based off feelings and theme, not exactly words. I believe my little friend here doesn’t exactly understand me but instead is reading my mind and feelings.

Describing the strange fauna here. As most of the world is covered in shallow pools and there is no vegetation, I first wondered that there should be any life at all. I have deduced that life here makes most of the necessary nutrients form visible light. From there different species have different strategies. One fascinating species (termed ‘Voorps’ by the dominant tribe) seems to sustain itself on lost thoughts, a benign parasite. I am told to beware however because
