Description
Beholderkin. A Bookholder is a type of Beholderkin that sometimes forms when a Beholder falls asleep while reading. As a response of a Beholder's paranoia that may cause them to have an intense study of a book, Bookholders tend to eagerly pursue knowledge. Other than eating, drinking, and sleeping all a Bookholder does is read. These lesser Beholders typically are eaten or killed by the Beholder that spawned them into existence.
Bookholders appear as a tiny floating orb about a foot in diameter. They can be various colors, but always have six eyestalks and a central eye which rests above their gaping mouth. Some Bookholders prefer to wear monocles over their central eye to better observe their books.
Arcane Assistants. Bookholders are a common summon for Wizards who own a library. A Bookholder expects only food and drink, and will fight to the death to protect a library that it believes to contain valuable information.
