Surprise Attack. If the belladonna drake surprises a creature and hits it with an attack during the first round of combat, the target takes an extra 7 (2d6) damage from the first attack that the belladonna hits it with.
Ambusher. The doppelganger has advantage on attack rolls against any creature it has surprised.
False Appearance. While the belladonna drake remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a bush or shrub.
Multiattack. The Belladonna Drake makes two attacks, one with it's Venomous Thorns, and one with it's Bite.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (3d6 +3) piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw, taking 10 (4d4) poison damage and become poisoned for a minute on a failed save, on a successful save the target takes half as much damage and is not poisoned. A creature poisoned in this way must make another constitution saving throw against the poison at the start of each of their turns, ending the effect on a success, or taking 5 (2d4) poison damage upon failing. A creature cannot be poisoned in this way more than once.

Description
This species develops as a berry-like larvae that is dangerously toxic. It creates no more poison as it grows, they rather condense it all in this small form. If an animal eats the larvae the soon-to-be corpse will grow a new bush. The fully developed form is rather dangerous. Don't agitate or approach. A prick from the sharp thorns or teeth allows it to inject it's venomous juices into you.
