Description
These creatures lurk in the forests around small villages, in the hills near cities, in caves near trade routes. They prey on livestock and humanoids alike, extracting their organsto fuel its perverse longevity, Vivisectors live as long as they can find new organs to replace the ones that are constantly rotting within them. Craven foes, they attack from the mist, or the underbrush, waiting til their targets are alone. They enjoy using their strange ability to turn invisible, fluttering above their prey, its wingbeats sounding like those of a giant locust. Once it incapacitates its foe, it tears it open and extracts its organs. Vivisectors reproduce when they gorge themselves on organs, of no fewer than ten creatures. The new vivisector grows within its "mother", bloating the host before being released after two weeks. Young vivisectors mature within a week, flying off to wreak havoc on their own. Vivisectors usually hunt solo, but groups of two or three have been known to exist, and can be the terror of an entire country.
Vivisectors stand around 5 feet tall and weigh 100 pounds.
