Life drain. Any creature that ends its turn within 10ft of the blank wyrmling must roll a DC 14 constitution saving throw. On a fail, they take (1d10) necrotic damage as the blank wyrmling absorbs their life energy. If this reduces a creature to 0 hit points, they die.
Elemental absorption. Any spell attack that deals fire, lightning, acid, poison, or cold damage only deals half damage to the wyrmling. The rest of that energy restores its hit points by that amount and its colour changes slightly to the chromatic dragon of that type, gaining resistance to that type of damage for one minute. Its bite attacks now do an extra d4 damage for that element, and it now has a rudimentary breath weapon.
Multiattack. The blank wyrmling makes one bite attack and one claw attack.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d8 + 1) piercing damage.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack. +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) slashing damage.
Rudimentary Breath Weapon (Recharge 5–6) Depending on the element absorbed, its breath weapon will reflect that. It is significantly less powerful than a breath weapon of that kind from a normal wyrmling. The dragon exhales gas in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 11 Dexterity saving throw, taking (3d6) acid/cold/fire/lightning/poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Description
Blank Dragons are a type of dragon only thought to exist in Antasaruun, a land ruled by dragons. Every few hundred years or so, a new ancient chromatic dragon appears, usurping the previous one. However, these new dragons are only ancient in shape. Age-wise, they should be an adult or even a young dragon. This is where the blank dragons come in. Made by Tiamat herself, these colourless dragons are fed the power of the current chromatic dragon of the colour She wishes to replace. This weakens the ancient dragon, making it easier for the blank dragon to kill and replace. Until that point, however, the blank dragons are kept in a perpetual wyrmling state. They look like dragons, but without the defining colours or shapings of any chromatic dragon. To an experienced adventurer, they are not much of a challenge. To new adventurers, particularly spellcasters, they can prove difficult- especially with their life-draining ability.
