Description
The Dragon of the Shadowfell Emperor is a large black and dark purple dragon. It appears as if it was made of living smoke and shadow energy. With dark piercing eyes that see right into your soul, it is a fearsome beast. These dragons live in the Shadowfell and can only be summoned by those who cast shadow magic, and Shadowfell Emperor.
Lair and Lair Actions
The Shadowfell is the home of this dragon.
Lair Actions
On initiative count 4 (losing initiative ties), the Dragon of the Shadowfell Emperor takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; it can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:
- Dragon of Shadows: the creatures in the vicinity are completely surrounded by shadows. From the shadows they are attacked by shadow hounds (2d8 +3 for 3 rounds) and if they are dropped below half HP's then they become slaves of the dragon.
- Shadow Persuasion: the creatures must make 18 wisdom check, then a 20 constitution check. If they fail they fall prey to the power of the Dragon of the Shadowfell Emperor, and become its slave.
Regional Effects
The region containing a legendary Dragon of the Shadowfell Emperor’s lair is effected by it's presence. The area it is in, the creatures must make a 20 Will-Defense check in which they fail they must account for effects of the Shadowfell, which creates one or more of the following effects.
If the Dragon of the Shadowfell Emperor dies, these effects fade over the course of 2d4 +2days.
