Amphibious. The wurm can breathe air and water.
Legendary Resistance (2/Day). If the wurm fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Multi-attack. The lindwurm can use its Intimidating Presence. It then makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature. Hit: 15 (2d10 + 4) piercing damage.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage.
Constrict. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature. Hit: 12 (3d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 18). Until this grapple ends, the creature is restrained, and the wurm can't constrict another target.
Swallow. The lindwurm makes one bite attack against a Medium or smaller target it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. The swallowed target is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the lindwurm, and it takes 18 (4d8) acid damage at the start of each of the lindwurm's turns. The lindwurm can have only one target swallowed at a time. If the lindwurm dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse using half of their movement, exiting prone.
Intimidating Presence. Each creature of the lindwurm's choice that is within 120 feet of the lindwurm and aware of it must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or become Intimidated for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the lindwurm's Intimidating Presence for the next 24 hours.
The lindwurm can take 2 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The lindwurm regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Detect. The dragon makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.
Bite Attack. The lindwurm makes a bite attack.
Swallow (Costs 2 Actions). The lindwurm makes a swallow attack.
Description
With the body and tail of a snake, the hybridized head of a dragon and a lion and two patch-furred odious arms. Apollion Lindwurm dwell in hills on the frayed edges of civilization. An apollion lindwurm’s lair is a iridescent cave or grotto that is at least partially flooded, providing pools where the lindwurm rests. The lair is littered with the clothes of previous victims and the discarded gear and coin of adventurers past, watched over by crumbling statues. Snakes of all kinds infest the lair, which is filled with the pungent scent of iron.
Lair and Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the lindwurm takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the lindwurm can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:
- Pools and puddles of water that the lindwurm can see within 60 feet of it mirror the waters surface. Any creature on the ground within 5 feet of such a pool or puddle must succeed on a DC 15 Charisma saving throw or be magically pulled under the surface of the water and held restrained by their reflection (escape DC 15), the creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of their turns ending the effect on itself on a success .
- A swarm of poisonous snakes emerge from pools and puddles and group together in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on a point the lindwurm chooses within 60 feet of it. The swarm comes together into a swarm of poisonous snakes that is hostile to any creature in the chosen radius and remains until either the swarm has died or if the lindwurm dismisses it as an action, uses this lair action again, or dies.
- Hallucinatory Terrain spreads from a point the lindwurm chooses within 30 feet of it, filling a 15-foot cone until the lindwurm dismisses it as an action, uses this lair action again, or dies. The hallucinatory terrain spreads around corners. A creature with blindsight can’t see through this terrain, and nonmagical means can’t dispel it. If any of the effect’s area overlaps with an effect of illusion created by a spell of 3rd level or lower, the spell that created the illusion is dispelled.
