Description

Fionn McGlennan was a man who threw caution away for Neeria, a daughter of the moon. She too beautiful and he too novel and earnest to ignore. They courted for months until the demigod drew the ire of her sisters. Jealous, the sisters tricked Fionn into sleeping with another women, his eyes clouded by illusion, and Neeria grew furious. Her mother, the moon itself, cursed Fionn for his betrayal.

Now the man wanders with a pack of wolves that keep a watchful eye on him, acting as both his allies and jailers, under the thrall of Neeria's mother. Where he goes, they follow, and when they look upon him, it is with hunger and rage.

Fionn stays within a hundred miles near his old home and makes his nest in a hollow of the woods as a giant, black wolf. This is where Blackgollow draws his name.

Because Fionn's lycanthropy was bestowed upon him by a goddess, so must it be removed by someone or something just as powerfull. This divine touch is evidence by the power Blackhollow possesses, turning invisible under moonlight, just like Neeria he unknowingly spurned when he was only a man.

Lair and Lair Actions

On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties) Blackhollow takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects. An effect cannot be used more than once per round.

  • Grappling vines: Male a strenght (Athletics) +4 grapple check against a target within 5ft. of any vine or tree on the map. If successful, the target takes 2(1d4) bashing damage and is grappled.
  • Parting Clouds: The clouds overhear (if any exist) part, bathing a 30ft. wide column of ground in moonlight.
