Traits

Beastly Protection. While an allied beast that isn't incapacitated is within 5 feet of the beastmaster, the beastmaster gains a +2 bonus to its AC.

Pack Tactics. The beastmaster has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the beastmaster's allied beasts is within 5 feet of the creature and the beast isn't incapacitated.

Spellcasting. The beastmaster is a 3rd-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 12). It knows the following ranger spells.

1st level (3 slots): alarmanimal friendshipsnare

Actions

Multiattack. The beastmaster makes two attacks with its spear or shortbow or makes one attack using its net. It then uses its Command Beast.

Spear. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage, or 6 (1d8 + 2) piercing damage if used with two hands to make a melee attack.

Shortbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 80/ 320 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage.

Net. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 5/15 ft., one Large or smaller creature that isn't formless. Hit: The target is restrained until it is freed. A creature can use its action to make a DC 10 Strength check, freeing itself or another creature within its reach on a success. Dealing 5 slashing damage to the net (AC 10) also frees the creature without harming it, ending the effect and destroying the net.

Command Beast. The beastmaster targets one allied beast or swarm of beasts that it can see within 30 feet of it. If the target can see and hear the beastmaster, the target can make one weapon attack as a reaction.

Description

Beastmasters are experienced animal trainers that know how to lead their beasts in hunting and warfare. Beastmasters are also capable trackers and explorers. They are usually accompanied by a group of beasts, such as wolves or blood hawks, or by a single dangerous beast, like a polar bear or dire wolf, that they command loyalty from.
