Traits

Locked Gauntlets. Arbelests use specialized gauntlets in order to better grip and aim their portable ballistas. As a result it takes a bonus action to remove the gauntlets and drop the ballista. This also makes acid damage particularly effective against them as they have little ability to react to it quickly.

Stable. Arbelests use a wide stance and lowered gravity to better stablize their ballistas, this makes them particularly difficult to move or trip. Arbelests have advantage on saving throws that would move them or knock them prone.

Actions

Glaive. Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d8) slashing damage.

Portable Ballista. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 100/400 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (3d8 + 3) piercing/siege damage. This weapon requires an action to reload.

Reactions

Sentinel. The arbalest may use its reaction to attack a creature that enters the reach of its glaive, if weilded. If the attack hits the creature's speed is reduced to 0 until the end of its turn.

Description

Arbalests are professional mercenaries of the Dragons Fang that specialize in the use of portable mini-ballista's that pack a massive punch but are slow to reload. Occasionally Arbelests will employ a squire to reload the weapon for them.
