Natural Lighting: The Valdra is a living flame, and naturally produces light that flickers like a massive candle, spreading bright light for 5 feet in its surrounding area. Its glow can be concealed, but only with great caution: as with a candle, they can be snuffed without sufficient oxygen.
Burning Warrior Spirit: Unleashing the sound of rushing, roaring flames, the Valdra charges its target and batters it with its fiery appendages. DC16 intimidation check with disadvantage, and deals 1d6 fire damage. Rng: 10ft
Flaming Projectiles: The valdra shoots a random amount (roll D4) of small fireballs, which spray in a random array of directions, though they can also be aimed. Each fireball deals 1d4-1 fire damage.
9 Lives: Valdra can disengage from combat as a bonus action as a part of their turn to hide, seek shelter or try to summon help from nearby Dryads or Allies. This action allows it to disengage without rebuttal and move its full movement speed in any direction, taking advantage of its small, fluid form.
Self-Defense Mechanisms: Should anyone attempt to overfeed, smother or otherwise take an action that would put out the Valdra's flame, the Valdra can make a CON saving throw to determine if it can burn hot enough to survive. A failed throw will result in a dead fire.
Description
Borne of soul fragments colliding with magic from the fire plane, the Valdra have existed as long as the Dryads on FeyFall, living a simple existence and burning what they need to keep themselves alight. Viewed by the Dryads very much as humans would regard beloved cats, Valdra are slightly intelligent and posses a simple sentience, allowing them to have basic personalities and instincts.
Any who wish to befriend a Valdra should start by feeding it some prime kindling, and go from there! Overfeeding can cause significant problems for the creatures, as if they burn too hot they will start to damage the soul fragment that brought them to life.
