Description
The Riders of the Wild Hunt are the souls of humanoids cursed to ride through the skies forever, or until someone puts them to rest, usually because they forsook the gods for what they perceived to be the be-all end-all of life: hunting. They sit atop a mount, usually a horse, never to dismount. It is also impossible to dismount a Rider, functioning essentially as an extension of the Rider. They bear a heavy hunting crossbow, ever pursuing an elusive and uncatchable prey, sometimes accompanied by spiritual hunting dogs. The Riders usually hunt in hunting parties with others of the same curse, and the sounds of their hunting horns on the wind are often a sure sign to get indoors.
