Rejuvenation. While any single Bag of Holding still exists, a destroyed Bagman gains a new body in 1d10 hours, with all its hit points. The new body emerges from a random bag of holding.
Fallible Invisibility. Bagman is invisible. This invisibility can be circumvented by two things:
- If its reflection can be seen in a mirror or on another surface.
- Humanoid children, aged 16 and under, can see through this invisibility.
Trackless. Bagman leaves no tracks to indicate where it has been or where it’s headed.
Compression. Bagman can move through any opening at least 1 inch wide without squeezing. It can also squeeze to fit into a space that a Tiny creature could fit in.
Alien Mind. If a creature tries to read Bagman’s thoughts, that creature must succeed on a DC 11 Intelligence saving throw or be stunned for 1 minute. The stunned creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Grappler. Bagman has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it.
Spider Climb. Bagman can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Multiattack. Bagman makes two claw attacks.
Piercing Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (3d10 + 4) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, Bagman can pull the target up to 10 feet toward itself, and the target is grappled (escape DC 14). Bagman has two claws. While a claw grapples a target, the claw can attack only that target.
Shadow Jump. If Bagman is in dim light or darkness, each creature of Bagman’s choice within 5 feet of it must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or take 34 (5d12 + 2) necrotic damage.
Bagman then magically teleports up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space it can see. It can bring one creature it’s grappling, teleporting that creature to an unoccupied space it can see within 5 feet of its destination. The destination spaces of this teleportation must be in dim light or darkness.
Deadly Reach. In response to a visible enemy moving into its reach, Bagman makes one claw attack against that enemy. If the attack hits, Bagman can make a second claw attack against the target.
Description
The Bagman is an urban legend with no real proof. Legend says that if you whisper "follow my voice" into an extradimensional space three times, the Bagman will be summoned. The legends go that he will start killing people around you in incredibly artistic and gruesome ways. He will follow you, making sure you know what he's doing. He will make you paranoid and crazy, slowly making you lose track of what's real and what isn't. Evidence will start appearing that you are the one behind these murders. The more you work to prove it isn't you, the more clear it becomes to everyone else that it is.
When the Bagman is done with you he will simply crawl back into your bag of holding and disappear, only ever returning to watch quietly as you either are killed for your crimes or as you rot in a cell.
Bagman is pretty commonly accepted to be a myth. In a world where monsters are so commonly studied, the idea of a creature even being unproven is enough for people to think he's false. On top of that, having the only people who claim to have seen him be murderers who are blaming the murders they're convicted for on him make it difficult for even the most openminded of researchers to believe in his existence.
