Traits

Incorporeal Movement. The void spirit can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 5 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.

Summon Void. After the void spirit deals damage to a creature, a 10-foot-radius sphere of magical darkness centered on the target appears. The sphere of darkness lasts until the end of the void spirit's next turn.

Ravenous Darkness. Whenever a creature within 60 feet of the void spirit starts its turn within an area of darkness, it takes 5 (1d10) cold or psychic damage. The void spirit regains a number of hit points equal to the damage dealt.

Actions

Multiattack. The void spirit makes two touch of the void attacks.

Touch of the Void. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) psychic or cold damage. If the target is a creature, its speed is reduced to half and it can't take reactions until the beginning of the void spirit's next turn.

Description

Originating from the chilling and dark emptiness of the void, the restless apparitions known as Void Spirits are driven by a relentless hunger that can only be sated through the devouring of matter and the energy of the living.

While usually content to drift through the Void or the starry emptiness of the Astral Plane, occasionally one of these entities finds their way to a world full of life and matter. When this happens, death and destruction soon follows, as they siphon the life force from all things living and disintegrate entire cities.

Servants of Great Ones. Eldritch entities who dwell in the darkest and most remote corners of the world may sometimes impose their incomprehensible yet dominating will upon Void Spirits, turning them into mindless servants. These Void Spirits will then do their master’s bidding, whatever that may entail.

Aberrant Cycle. When a Void Spirit is slain, its death is far from permanent; using the energy and matter it has absorbed throughout its existence, it can slowly reform itself. Though this process can take incredible lengths of time, a slain Void Spirit will be reborn with an overwhelming yet indecipherable hatred towards the one who brought about its end, and seek to find its killer to exact its revenge. The issue, however, is that there is no telling where throughout the Planes of Existence the Void Spirit will appear once it’s been reborn.
