Shapechanger. The werecoyote can use its action to polymorph into a Medium coyote-humanoid hybrid, into a Small coyote, or back into its true form (that of a Medium humanoid). Other than its size, AC, and movement, its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn’t transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Keen Hearing and Smell. The werecoyote has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
Regeneration. The werecoyote regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn if it has at least 1 hit point.
Driven by Blood. The curse of therianthropy provokes a deep craving to bite non-therianthrope humanoids. When within 30' of non-therianthrope humanoids, werecoyotes must make a DC 11 Constitution saving throw to resist biting them.
Bite (Coyote or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 10 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is a humanoid, it must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or be cursed with werecoyote therianthropy.
Scimitar (Human or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) slashing damage.
Sling (Human or Hybrid Form Only). Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 30/120 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) bludgeoning damage.
Description
Regeneration. The curse of therianthropy also acts to rapidly heal therianthropes. A werecoyote's wounds close quickly. Lost arms and legs can be regenerated during a long rest.
Curse of Therianthropy. A humanoid creature can be afflicted with the curse of therianthropy after being bitten by a therianthrope, or if one or both of its parents are therianthropes. A remove curse spell can rid an afflicted therianthrope of the curse, but a natural born lycanthrope can be freed of the curse only with a wish.
There is a 2-4 day incubation period between being bitten and a humanoid's first shapechange. Early on, shapechanges will come unbidden during combat or when the werecoyote succumbs to their Driven by Blood trait. With time and experience, therianthropes learn to master their shapechanging ability and can shift between their forms at will.
