Traits

Keen Smell. The troll has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Regeneration. The troll regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn. If the troll takes acid or fire damage, this trait doesn't function at the start of the troll's next turn. The troll dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.

Devour Magic: This ability allows the Troll to devour both spells and magical Items, even cursed items. When the Troll encounters a person or party with magical objects or is capable of casting magic. The Arcane Troll enters a savage and uncontrollable rage as his mind is bend only consuming all magical around him. ( The only acceptation to this ability it divine magic) which the Troll has no ability to consume. When the troll encounters a spell being cast it has the ability to devour the spell while its being cast.Opening its massive jaws a magical portal appears within it and the Troll attempts to draw the arcane energy from the caster that has been targeted. The Targeted caster must make an (Intelligence save D.C. 17) to avoid having their spell devoured by the troll. The Arcane Troll is able to use this ability as a bonus action every time a spell is cast. If the troll devours a spell, then the caster completely forgets that spell and must re-memorize it after a long rest. Should the caster succeed at their save then the spell activates as normal. However, should the Troll devour the spell then they can use the arcane energy to either raise a stat or heal themselves. If the spell would have done damage to the Troll then the caster would still roll the damage dice and the number of damage the Troll would have taken is added to the monsters hit points.

Devouring Magical Objects or Weapons: When the Arcane Troll is attempting to devour and magical object or weapon. The Troll must make a successful attempt to either snatch the weapon from the players hand or reach out and take hold of it. This is done by adding +2 to the targets armor class. Should the Troll hit this new armor class then it has taken hold of the desired weapon or object. Should the object the Troll seeks currently be in the grasp of the targeted player . Then a simple (Strength Check) can be done to attempt to pyre the weapon or object free from the players grasp.

The object or weapon must make a (Resistance Check, D.C. 16) or be devoured by the Troll and lost forever. If the object or weapon succeeds then the Troll can never attempt to devour the object or weapon again. Should the Troll Succeed then with their open maw, the Troll draws or sucks the magical energy from the object or weapon. Reducing the once magical object or weapon to a normal variant of the object or weapon. If the object is a weapon then the Troll gains all pluses and damage dice, (Rolled) To his temporary hit points. If the object grants some kind of magical ability then the Troll gains that ability for 1d4 rounds, before the magic fades within him.

Sense Magical Objects, Weapons, Spells or Potions: The Arcane troll can smell magic users, objects, weapons, spells and potions with one mile of him, without fail.
