Keen Sight. The basan has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
Multiattack. The basan makes two attacks: one with its beak and one with its talons or it uses its fire breath.
Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage and the target must make a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw or take 7 (1d8 + 3) fire damage. On a save, the target takes half as much fire damage.
Talons. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) slashing damage.
Fire Breath (Recharge 5–6). The basan exhales fire in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw, taking 14 (4d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Description
The basan is a fiery kin to the phoenix though smaller but also much more ill tempered, being an evil leaning beast of the elemental plane of fire. Occasionally making its way into the material plane, the basan can terrorize villages and farms with its voracious carnivorous appetite though it does not target humans or humanoids especially. But the basan is not a terribly picky eater when it comes to roasted meats.
