Description

Those caught out alone in the cold best think twice before making their way to the welcoming sight of a nearby campfire. A native denizen of the icy expanse of Uller's Gift,  the Heartdrinker Moth thrives near the scattered geothermal phenomena that create pockets of life out on the ice. Many have come to know the snowy blue insect from infamous failed excursions into the Trismata Valley.

Dotted with the remains of a forgotten battle from the Age of Worms. The Valley's promise of exotic and rare finds among the fallen have brought many foolish enough to search. From these would-be grave robbers came the first tales of folk found frozen solid in their tents by their party. Clusters of eerie fire lights out on the snow that would disappear only to relight again hundreds of yards away. The moths used to luring in their prey with their light displays found strange new prey out among the hot springs.

For Commonwealth settlers, the Heartdrinker quickly became a reminder of why settling near The Gift was always of greater risk. For those who've homesteaded north of Qurrspring the creature has become a bit of a boogeymen, feared by most children and the more honest adult alike. Those unaware of the creatures biology will claim to some that it seeks out bad children, but the moth is attracted to all body heat despite however misbehaved its owner might be.
