Memory Sifting. The arae can sift through memories and, often as a form of payment, can steal them. They mostly steal the positive or cherished memories, though this is not a requirement. An arae can also implant false memories, which is often used as a defense mechanism.
Incorporeal Movement. The ghost can move through other creatures and objects as if they were normal terrain.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +1 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3 (1d4 + 1) slashing damage.
Painful Memories. Ranged Weapon Attack: +1 to hit, reach 60 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d8 + 1) psychic damage.
Death Curse: Upon death, the arae will pass a curse onto the one responsible. The type and severity of the curse vary. If they were hired, the curse is chosen or specified by the one who hired them. If they were not hired, an arae will have a default curse. Each arae specializes in a certain damage type, but they can all create any low damage curse.
Description
An arae is a female spirit of a curse. They are hired in the underworld by the dead to curse the living, often the ones responsible for the death. As payment, they will take the good memories. While not on assignment, they wander the underworld looking for the next job. Upon death, they plant a curse on the responsible person. The severity of the curse varies.
