Slime Layer: This creature's skin is covered in a layer of special slime that is poisonous to the touch and quite flammable. This makes the creature resistant to poison damage and vulnerable to fire damage. Any creature it makes prolonged physical contact with becomes poisoned and starts taking 1d4 poison damage at the start of their turn for the next 2d4 turns. Instances of prolonged contact include, but are not limited to, grappling or being grappled by other creatures.

Strong grip: This creature has advantage on grapple checks and on opposing checks against a creature trying to escape its grapple.

Amphibious: Can breathe air and water.

Actions

Grapple: Grapple a creature within reach. Athletics check contested by target's athletics or acrobatics.

Upchuck: (+2 to hit) Upchuck a ball of toxic slime at a range of 30ft dealing 2d8 acid damage.

Tail Punch: (+2 to hit) The creature rapidly extends its tail forward with its hands in a fist, dealing 2d4 + 2 bludgeoning damage.

Swallow: The Bog Maw attempts to swallow a grappled creature of smaller size than itself. The target creature makes a DC 13 Dexterity or Strength saving throw. If failed, the Bog Maw swallows the target creature. While a creature is swallowed by the Bog Maw, It takes 2d4 acid damage at the start of each of its turns and it may choose to roll a DC 14 Dexterity or Strength saving throw to escape the stomach.

Bonus Actions

Secrete Slime: If the Bog Maw is below maximum hit points, it may secrete additional slime to cover itself with, raising its AC by 1 for the next 3 turns.

Description

A large, grotesque monstrosity, created when regular fish succumb to the influence of Rex Malum's Mist of Madness. These creatures can be found near bodies of water that have been influenced by Rex Malum's Mist, which would normally be populated with regular fish.

These creatures don't eat very often, but when they do, they eat as much as they can manage to fit in their body. Unlucky passers-by may find themselves grabbed by the large, handlike tail fins of a Bog Maw and swallowed whole.

Despite their sliminess, the Bog Maws have a surprisingly strong grip as well as a poisonous touch. Their poisonous slime keeps them from drying out while dwelling on land and allows them to stay out of water for about 3-4 hours. However, this slime is particularly flammable, making these creatures quite susceptible to fire.
