Incorporeal Movement. The angel can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 5 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.
Frigid Embrace. If the angel moves through a space occupied by another creature, that creature takes 1d10 cold damage.
Multiattack. The angel can make two attacks with its Death Lash attack.
Spellcasting. The angel's spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 21, +13 to hit with spell attacks). The angel can cast the spell Cause Fear 3 times per day, the spell Blindness/Deafness 2 times per day, the spell Darkness 2 times per day, and the spell Phantasmal Killer 1 time per day.
Nightmare Aura. As a full-round action, the angel can invade the minds of creatures within a 60-foot radius, ferreting out their deepest fears and worst memories. Affected creatures are afflicted with visions of death, real or imagined, and take psychic damage corresponding to the number rolled on a Wisdom save. Additionally, any target that does not pass a DC 10 WIS save is frightened for the next minute. The angel must wait 1d6 rounds before it can use this feature again.
- Wisdom save of 21 or higher: no damage
- Wisdom save of 20: 1d10 psychic damage
- Wisdom save of 18 or 19: 2d10 psychic damage
- Wisdom save of 16 or 17: 3d10 psychic damage
- Wisdom save 11-15: 4d10 psychic damage
- Wisdom save 6-10: 5d10 psychic damage
- Wisdom save 1-5: 6d10 psychic
- Wisdom save less than or equal to 0: target drops to zero hit points
Psychic Invasion. As an action, the angel can reach into the mind of a creature within 60 feet. The target must succeed a DC 15 WIS save or suffer a short-term insanity effect. If a creature is targeted by this feature while already suffering a short-term insanity effect, it gains a long-term effect in addition to the short-term effect. A third such invasion results in an indefinite madness.
Death Lash. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., 1 target. Hit: 18 (3d8 + 3) necrotic damage.
Repulse Minds. Whenever a creature casts a spell that would cause psychic damage to the angel, the angel can use its reaction to attempt to reflect the damage back on the caster. The angel must succeed on a Wisdom check versus the caster's spell save DC + the level of the spell. On a success, the caster takes the amount of psychic damage the angel would have taken.
Description
Angels of death can be found anywhere death holds sway, particularly in graveyards and temples of death. They will tolerate no desecration of the dead and are the sworn enemies of all undead and necromancers. These celestial guardians visit death's solemn judgment upon anyone foolish enough to cross them.
