Cat-Like Nature: Appoplexians are inherently cat-like, and therefore are naturally adept at climbing. This also allows them to run on all fours for a short period of time, increasing their movement speed by 10ft. It also allows them to recover from falling easily, preventing damage from falling from heights of 40 ft. or less.
Aggressive Grappling: Appoplexians are incredibly adept at close-quarters combat, and therefore have an innate proficiency with wrestling. This gives them advantage on Strength checks made to grapple opponents.
Multiattack: The Appoplexian can make two attacks per action. One with its Bite and one with its Claw, or Two with its Claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5ft., 1 target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 4) [piercing] damage.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5ft., 1 target. Hit: 16(2d8+6) [slashing] damage.
Daunting Roar: Appoplexians have an incredibly powerful roar, strong enough to rival that of the Leonin. As a bonus action, the Appoplexian can let out a loud, echoing roar and any creature within a 10 ft. radius sphere of the Appoplexian must make a DC 16 Charisma saving throw or be frightened for 10 minutes. On a successful save, creatures are not frightened, but because of the power behind the roar they are somewhat shaken, giving them disadvantage on their next attack directed towards the Appoplexian.
Description
Appoplexians are tiger-like humanoids with huge muscles. They have orange fur, white muzzles, hands, stomachs, chests, and feet. The fur can also vary from yellowish orange to dark orange and the white parts can occasionally be light yellow. They also have black stripes on their head, shoulders, back, and legs. Sometimes there are also stripes on the forearms, cheeks, or chin. There is a chance that the head supports a Mohawk, being either the color of the muzzle or stripes.
They also have four-fingered hands and three-toed feet. They have boned, quill-like black brows on the skull over each eye, which are entirely yellow or yellow with black feline pupils, and they have a large, single retractable claw coming out of both wrists that can be either black or dark metallic blue. Instead of keratin, the structure of the claw is mostly pure bone. The jaw is pronounced and have either two or six fangs sticking out. The teeth are yellowed, showing that Appoplexians have poor dental hygiene or have little concern about their teeth.

Posted Sep 28, 2021Even though I just made the Tetramand not long ago, I thought I'd continue my creativity a bit, by making my absolute favorite alien as a monster. I'm definitely planning on using this one in my own game, and just being over-the-top with the interactions. If you use this monster, and are of drinking age, take a drink every time you say "Let me tell you something!"
