Spellcasting. Tavros is a 17th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 18, +9 to hit with spell attacks). Tavros has the following artificer spells prepared:

Cantrips (at will): acid splash*, fire bolt*, prestidigitation, poison spray*

1st level (4 slots): absorb elements, cure wounds*, tasha's caustic brew*, ray of sickness*

2nd level (3 slots): heat metal*, melf's acid arrow*, invisibility

3rd level (3 slots): dispel magic, revivify, blink

4th level (3 slots): death ward**, stoneskin, blight*

5th level (1 slot): cloudkill*

(*spell that works with Alchemical Savant) (**Tavros casts this spell on himself before combat)

Alchemical Savant. When Tavros casts a spell, he gain a bonus to one roll of the spell. That roll must restore hit points or be a damage roll that deals acid, fire, necrotic, or poison damage, and the bonus equals his Intelligence modifier.

Chemical Mastery.  Tavros can cast the following spells innately without expending a spell slot or providing material components:

1/day:  heal, greater restoration

Corrosive Form.  Tavros' body has been transformed by centuries of exposure to powerful reagents.  A creature who touches Tavros or hits him with a melee attack while within 5 feet of Tavros takes 5 (1d10) acid damage.  It can take this damage no more than once per turn.

Magic Items.  Tavros wears bracers of defense, a amulet of proof against detection and location, and a mantle of spell resistance.  He has advantage on saving throws against spells, and cannot be targeted by divination magic or perceived through magical scrying sensors.

Actions

Multiattack.  Tavros casts one cantrip and uses his Hurl Potion ability

Hurl Potion. Ranged Weapon Attack.  +7 to hit.  Range 20/60.  Hit: 6 (1d4+4) piercing damage, and the target must roll a d6, with the following effects applied depending on the result:

  1. Deadlift Drops:  The target must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or become restrained until the end of its next turn as its limbs drastically increase in weight.  While restrained in this way, the targets melee attacks and unarmed strikes deal an extra 10 (4d4) bludgeoning damage on a hit.
  2. Jelly Legs Juice.  The target must succeed on a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw or fall prone;  it cannot stand up until the end of its next turn.  While prone, the targets limbs flail violently.  Any creature that moves within 5 feet of the target or starts its turn there must succeed on a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw or take 5 (2d4) bludgeoning damage from the flailing limbs
  3. Snoring Solution.  The target must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or fall unconscious until the end of its next turn.  While unconscious, the target snores violently.  Creatures who move within 15 feet of the target or start their turn there must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or take 5 (2d4) thunder damage.
  4. Terror Tea.  The target must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of all creatures within 30 feet of itself until the end of its next turn.  While frightened, the target's speeds are doubled.
  5. Charming Cordial.  The target must succeed on a DC 18 Intelligence saving throw or become charmed by Tavros until the end of its next turn.  While charmed, the target harbors intense jealousy towards Tavro's allies, and has advantage on attack rolls against them
  6. Ethereal Elixer.  The target must succeed on a DC 18 Charisma saving throw or be banished into the ethereal plane until the end of its next turn.  While the target is banished, 1d4+1 shadows appear in the nearest unoccupied spaces to the target.  The shadows act on the targets turn, attacking any nearby creatures.  They disappear when they die or when the banished creature returns to the material plane.

Cantrip (Costs 2 Actions). Tavros casts a Cantrip

Description

Tavros Sindar is one of the most accomplished alchemists in the world, having spent lifetimes perfecting his craft.  An inventor of new and custom potions, his inquisitiveness and devotion to the art of alchemy have granted him extended life, durability, and a massive set of powerful reagents and potions, all at the cost, however, of his morality and sanity.

Scarred and Stained

Tavros appears as an aged half-elf, with a shock of flyaway white hair.  His arms and hands are rent with numerous scars and stains from his work, his skin leathery and tough, his face craggy with wrinkles.  Long nights spent working with dangerous reagents have left his movements jerky and spastic, though focus on his craft steadies them.  He alternates between manic and controlled states of mind, feverishly exclaiming one moment and calm and measured the next.  Of all his features, his electric blue eyes most display the intelligence and cunning behind the spastic movements and odd demeanor, and betray nothing of his long existence.

Exposure to the various acids and poisons he has developed over the years has fundamentally altered Tavros' body;  His skin and blood have developed acidic properties towards living flesh as a result.  Due to this, he allows no one to touch him and wears gloves at all times when dealing with unsuspecting strangers

Ancient and Amoral Inquisitive

Having exceeded the lifespan of his race several times over and now older than even the oldest elf, Tavros has devolved in the last several hundred years into a quirky, amoral, and single-minded researcher of the alchemical arts.  He is not above the imprisonment and torture of sentient beings to provide research material for his creations, and takes delight in selling his potions and wares to unsuspecting test subjects to observe side effects and reactions, while using the funds to continue his work.  Harboring no political aims or other motivations besides his alchemy, he has worked for nobles and criminals, wizards and warlords alike;  anyone who can help him acquire more materials, more bodies, and more knowledge to further his aims.

Tavros ultimate goal is the creation of an alchemical golem, a malleable and destructive chemical force given life of its own.  Hundreds of years, hundreds of test subjects, numerous deaths and disfigurements and lives ruined have not stopped him from this goal.  Along the way he has developed numerous custom poisons and potions.  Whether by accident or design, many of these provide both beneficial and detrimental effects to the user and/or target
