Innate Spellcasting. The dryad's innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 14). The dryad can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
At will: druidcraft, absorb elements
5/day each: entangle, goodberry
3/day each: barkskin, pass without trace, shillelagh, calm emotions
1/day each: plant growth, freedom of movement
Magic Resistance. The dryad has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Speak with Beasts and Plants. The dryad can communicate with beasts and plants as if they shared a language.
Tree Stride. Once on her turn, the dryad can use 10 feet of her movement to step magically into one living tree within her reach and emerge from a second living tree within 60 feet of the first tree, appearing in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the second tree. Both trees must be Large or bigger.
Favored Terrain. Like many rangers, Xyris has perfected her knowledge of her domain: the forest. When Xyris makes an Intelligence or Wisdom check related to your favored terrain, her proficiency bonus is doubled and she gains advantage on the roll if she is using a skill that she's proficient in.
Legendary Resistance 2/day. If Xyris fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Club. Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit (+6 to hit with shillelagh), reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2 (1d4) bludgeoning damage, or 8 (1d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage with shillelagh.
Fey Charm. Xyris targets one humanoid or beast that she can see within 30 feet of her. If the target can see Xyris, it must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or be magically charmed. The charmed creature regards Xyris as a trusted friend to be heeded and protected. Although the target isn't under Xyris's control, it takes Xyris's requests or actions in the most favorable way it can.
Each time Xyris or its allies do anything harmful to the target, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on itself on a success. Otherwise, the effect lasts 24 hours or until Xyris dies, is on a different plane of existence from the target, or ends the effect as a bonus action. If a target's saving throw is successful, the target is immune to Xyris's Fey Charm for the next 24 hours.
Xyris can have no more than 3 humanoids and up to 5 beasts charmed at a time.
Xyris can take 2 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Xyris regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Detect. Xyris makes a Wisdom (Perception) check with advantage if in the forest.
Calm Person. Xyris casts the calm emotions spell on a target within range.
Entangle. Xyris casts entangle on a target within range.
Description
Xyris of Estala is a powerful dryad whose realm in the Feywild is forested. She has been given control over a portal to the prime material plane leading to the Forest of Blades in the Almerian Realm in Tordûn. She loves life and desires to protect it at all costs. Only rarely will she resort to combat, preferring to parley or charm her way out of a conflict. The members of the ranger sect Estala Draimendi worship her as their deity. Unlike most common dryads, she has leafy wings, allowing her to fly at a moderate speed instead of being limited to the ground. Her deep love for her domain and her creatures lends her benefits when she is confronted in her own territory.
