Overheating. If the sentry bot moves more than 40ft in a round or takes any fire damage while moving, it overheats. While overheated, it cannot move, take reactions, bonus actions, and must use its action to cool down. If it uses its action to cool down, it is no longer overheated.
Self-destruct. Upon dropping to 0 hitpoints, or taking an action to self-destruct, the sentry bot immediately explodes. Every creature within 15ft must make a DC 18 dexterity saving throw, or take 5d8 fire and 2d10 bludgeoning damage. On a successful saving throw, they take half damage.
Multiattack. The sentry bot makes two slam attacks, or two burst fire/single target minigun attacks.
Minigun (Single-Target). Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, range 100/450 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d8 + 3) piercing damage.
Minigun (Burst Fire). Any creature in a 10ft square or 15ft line must make a DC 14 dexterity saving throw, or take 12 (2d6+3) piercing damage.
Fragmentation Grenade. The sentry bot fires a fragmentation grenade up to 120ft away. Each creature within 20 feet of an exploding fragmentation grenade must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 5d6 piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Smoke Grenade. The sentry bot fires a smoke grenade up to 120ft away. One round after a smoke grenade lands, it emits a cloud of smoke that creates a heavily obscured area in a 20-foot radius. A moderate wind (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses the smoke in 4 rounds; a strong wind (20 or more miles per hour) disperses it in 1 round.
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10 + 3) bludgeoning damage.
Description
The heaviest class of combat robot in the United States Armed Forces, the sentry bot's singular purpose is to provide security through overwhelming firepower. The sentry bot had become a standard piece of military equipment by at least 2063, with prototypes existing further back. The assaultron is designed for melee combat, and the Mister Gutsy is a jack-of-all-trades. The sentry bot's purpose is to engage the enemy at range with a variety of weapons, including miniguns, Gatling lasers, rocket launchers, and even back-mounted cluster grenade launchers. At the same time, its thick armor and multiple redundant systems allow it to survive extended engagements. It's commonly considered to be one of the most dangerous robots ever created and RobCo Industries' finest fighting robot. Late models are also provided with the ability to self-destruct to prevent the enemy from recovering the robot. Early sentry bot models were issued serial numbers in the SB-#### format (model, then serial), with later models transitioning to the standardized alphanumeric registration in the ABC-###### format.
