Description
According to superstition, children’s graves are protected by small spirits. Boggarts are hairless humanoids with dark grey skin, sunken eyes and filthy nails. If something is stolen from the grave, the boggart flies into a rage and attacks the thief by latching onto their back and furiously mauling them until they collapse dead.
Only a grave robber can see a boggart. To onlookers, the victim suddenly flies into a panic and begins fighting something that isn't there only to fall down with hideous wounds. Returning the stolen item or confessing to the authorities is usually enough to appease the boggart. The wounds inflicted by a boggart never truly heal as a constant reminder of what happens to those who rouse the dead.
