Mindmage's Insight. Jace Beleren is always under the effects of Detect Magic and Detect Thoughts.
Planeswalker. Once per short rest, Jace Beleren can cast Plane Shift targeting only himself, requiring no components.
Innate Spellcasting. Jace Beleren's innate spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 18). He can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
At will: Counterspell, Disguise Self, Dispel Magic, Invisibility, Mind Spike, Nondetection, Sending, Tasha's Mind Whip
3/day each: Greater Invisibility, Mislead, Modify Memory, Synaptic Static
1/day: Dominate Monster
Illusory Duplicate (Recharge 5-6). Jace Beleren creates a perfect illusory copy of himself that lasts for 1 minute, or until dispelled. This illusion appears in an unoccupied space that Jace Beleren can see within 30 feet of him. A duplicate's AC equals Jace’s. If an attack hits a duplicate, the duplicate is dispelled. A duplicate can be dispelled only by an attack that hits it, by a Dispel Magic versus Jace’s spell save DC, or when it is more than 120 ft. from Jace. It ignores all other damage and effects. As a bonus action on his turn, Jace can move each illusion up to 30 feet to a space he can see, but they must remain within 120 feet of him. For the duration, Jace Beleren can cast spells as though he were in an illusion’s space, but he must use his own senses to do so.
Illusory Swap. As a reaction to taking damage, Jace Beleren can swap places with an Illusory Duplicate within 60 feet of him. If the damage dealt was from an attack, the duplicate takes that damage rather than Jace and is dispelled. Otherwise, there is no effect.
Description
Growing up as a magical prodigy on his home plane, Jace Beleren sought out the training of the mysterious sphinx Alhammarret. Under the sphinx's training, Jace learned to control his abilities. However, when Jace discovered that Alhammarret had been using him for political manipulations, he confronted his master in a fierce mental battle. The battle badly damaged Jace's memories and caused him excruciating pain. This distress ignited his Planeswalker spark, tearing him away from his home plane.
Jace awoke on Ravnica, his memories shattered and his former identity forgotten. His absence of memory now fuels his insatiable appetite for knowledge and truth. His need to uncover and understand the unknown has lead him to Zendikar and back to Ravnica, where he solved his greatest puzzle yet: the Implicit Maze. His achievements earned him the title of Ravnica's Living Guildpact, where he serves as the magically empowered arbiter between the city's many guilds.
After aiding in the defeat of two of the Eldrazi titans on Zendikar, Jace decided to look beyond his adopted home of Ravnica to the other planes of the Multiverse. He believes everything that exists can be understood, and he dreams of one day knowing everything there is to know.
