Beguiling Blueberries. If a creature eats a blueberry from the top of a blueberry bushwacker, that creature must immediately roll a constitution saving throw (DC 13). If they fail the throw, they will heal 1 hit point, but feel then compelled to stay within 10 feet of the Bushwacker and not attack it. This effect lasts for 3 rounds (18 seconds), unless the creature eats another berry. Every time a creature eats berries from the blueberry bushwacker, add a +1 to the blueberry bushwacker's next attack and damage roll.
Surprise Attack. If the blueberry bushwhacker surprises a creature and hits it with an attack during the first round of combat, the target takes an extra 5 (2d4) piercing damage from the attack.
Chomp. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) piercing damage.
Soporific Spores (Recharge 5–6). The blueberry bushwhacker shivers it's branches and causes a burst of white cotton-like spores to fill a 10 ft cube of space in a direction of its choice. All creatures unlike itself within the 10 ft cube of space must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 13). If they fail the save, the creatures fall into a magical slumber, unconscious. Each unconscious creature effected by the spores stays unconscious for 5 minutes or until they succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC 13) during their turn before then. Splashing an effected creature with water grants advantage on the next constitution saving throw to end the unconscious condition.
Description
The blueberry bushwhacker is an ambush predator of small animals that are lured to it's location by appearing to be a ripe blueberry bush. In fact, above the ground's surface it practically is a blueberry bush; one with exceptionally healthy, though unnaturally addictive blueberries. However, below the surface lies the blueberry bushwhacker's main body, a thick muscular root system in roughly the shape of a 4 foot long mole with a wide, flytrap shaped "head".
When it senses an animal it that could be suitable prey, it bursts from the ground and attacks. If it gets in over it's head, it will burrow away through the earth as fast as the average man can walk only to sprout up out of the ground in a new hunting area. They are typically lone hunters, but are able to communicate to each other using bird-like chirping sounds.
They use vibrations and smells to sense the area around them. They have no visual senses.
